Sullivan County Council on the Arts
The Sullivan County Council on the Arts was founded in 1988, with Vivian McCarty as president. Florence Suarez became volunteer executive director in 1992. All board members, officers and workers are volunteers.
Over the years, the SCCA has developed a wide range of programs with special strengths in the visual arts, student artist awards and promotion of the annual Renaissance Faire and Renaissance Feast programs. A major recent concentration has been on the Roving Historical Theater, devoted to bringing the history of Sullivan County communities alive through local stage productions.
We also offer arts classes and music events.
For several years, the Garret Gallery featured original artwork, prints and note cards by both full-time and seasonal area artists. The Garret closed in 2006. We are still looking for a space in which to reestablish a gallery.

The SCCA is looking for donations to support the development of a Heritage Center. If you have any suggestions about such a property, please let us know.
