Artisan Alpacas LLC

37 Vorpagel Ln., Dushore
Sullivan County
After 6 years of research, we purchased our first two
female alpacas in 2009. In March of 2010, we
purchased our third female. We chose these girls
based on proven, well known genetics with fleece
formation, growth and statistics at the high end of
industry standards. We boarded (called agisting) our
girls until our farm was ready for them and moved to
Sullivan County, Pa. in August 2011 with three
pregnant females and one yearling male. By October
2011, our first three cria were born on our farm.
Our location 3 miles outside of the town of Dushore
had been a seasonal cabin for 12 years and was an
obvious choice for our farm. We chose Amish built
barns and added the farm store when we saw the
beauty of their work.
Our adventure as alpaca farmers has added new
dimension to life. Watching the alpacas from our
porch at the end of a long day is a peace I have no
words to adequately describe.

We sell Breeding stock as well as Fiber/Pet animals. Come talk with us and we
can show you how to understand the difference. We suggest folks new to alpacas visit several
farms and ask many questions before making a purchase decision.
We offer free boarding for a limited time to all of our customers. We will also
board animals for other folks if needed at a per day cost that includes monthly herd health.
We are available to Farm Sit at other alpaca farms within reasonable mileage.
Go on vacation with no worries as we take care of your alpacas. Costs vary based on location,
number of animals and number of per day visits/overnight care.
If you buy an alpaca from us, we are your 24/7 consultant. We are also available
to guide anyone who may need help with farm lay out, barn structure issues, animal evaluation
and transport issues.
We are having so much fun introducing visitors to our alpacas!
We provide treats to feed the alpacas offering an up close experience with
these gentle creatures. We answer questions and educate visitors about
alpacas and their elite fiber.

Our Farm Store offers yarn and other items made from the
alpacas here on our farm. We also stock items made by
other alpaca farms such as felted shoe inserts, handmade
felted soaps and all natural lotions. We have a wide
variety of hats, scarves, socks, blankets, teddy bears,
children's books and unique gifts.
Farm and store hours:
