The Susquehanna County Independent and the Weekender are based out of Montrose, Pa. the County Sear of Susquehanna County.

The Independent is now in its 200th year of publication. In recent years, the paid publication has sharpened its focus on hard news and improved on its flair for connecting with the 40 communities it serves. Strong attention is given to county and municipal government, courts and crime, natural gas development, schools, community happenings, local sports and current events. The Independent has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association with several Keystone Press Awards.

The Weekender – the Independent’s companion, free publication – focuses on area events and happenings.
