Jack Barth, an oceanographer at Oregon State University and summer visitor to Eagles Mere, will discuss what he knows about climate change’s effects on the ocean, including warming, ocean acidification, and decreasing levels of dissolved oxygen. He will share his research using autonomous underwater robots. Jack will also show a film that he helped to make called Surviving Hothouse Earth: Oceans that places the changes that we are observing today in a historical context. He will end by discussing “ocean solutions” that can help us into the future.
