Celebrate the summer solstice with a guided hike on The Summit Loop Trail this Friday, June 21, at 6 pm. Take advantage of the extra daylight hours and enjoy a leisurely stroll through the woods. Bring a friend for a relaxing walk or meet new ones along the way. See the future site of The Summit: Center for Wellness and The Landing, or take a detour and enjoy the tranquility of Meditation Ledge.
The Solstice Hike will be led by a Loyalsock Foundation volunteer. Bring your questions, your walking shoes, a bottle of water, and appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us in Sullivan County. The Summit Loop is approximately 1 mile long with benches and chairs placed throughout the trail.
The Summit Loop will be periodically closed this summer due to construction of the permanent driveway. The Solstice Hike will be a great opportunity to experience the trail before driveway construction begins.
Meet at 6 pm in the parking area. The Summit Loop trailhead is located along Route 42 between Laporte and Eagles Mere (approximately 0.65 miles from the courthouse headed towards Eagles Mere). Look for The Summit: Center for Wellness sign along Route 42.
