Bats, the only mammal capable of true flight, are right at home in the nighttime skies, and you are invited to find out how vital bats are for the environment and for us. Join the Friends of Salt Springs Park for this presentation by Lackawanna State Park’s Environmental Education Specialist Tony DeSantis. Afterwards, they will take a count of the resident bats as part of the PA Game Commission’s Appalachian Bat Count initiative to monitor the health of bats. There will also be a bat count on July 15 at 8:30 p.m. Fee: Free-will donation.
