SUMMARY:iPhone Photography with Julie Stauffer (Session 2)
DESCRIPTION:July 20 @ 10:00 am – July 24 @ 12:00 pm \n451 Eagles Mere Avenue (Julie’s cottage in Eagles Mere) \nClass size limited to 8 \nCost $150\, students need to be have an iPhone 11 or newer device\, other supplies included \nAge 16+ \nJoin Julie’s ever-popular workshop of three small-group sessions (July 20\, 22\, 24) to explore the capabilities of your iPhone camera. You will learn to use the built-in settings and adjustments of the camera as well as the post processing capabilities. You will also learn how to fine tune the use of the internal camera options and to edit beyond the basics using a free app called Snapseed. During the three days\, we will look at other apps to consider for your post-processing endeavors. \nThe class will also discuss how to compose and frame an image\, how to “see the light”\, and what to think about before you press the shutter to take a photograph. There will be plenty of time to photograph\, practice\, and edit. \nThere is a day between each class to explore and experiment\, and then come back with questions and successes. The group will look at participants’ images\, and they will share how they thought about their image as they were composing elements in the frame. You will understand how some things work and other things work better as you progress through the class. \nThe third session we can work independently\, concentrating on other editing apps to stylize our photographs and make them truly unique. Sharing is part of this third and final morning session. \nBy the end of the three days\, each student will feel more familiar with the features of the camera\, will have experimented with certain new ideas\, techniques\, apps and will be on their way to making great photographs\, very worthy of printing\, posting and sharing. \nStudents need to be using iPhone 11 or newer device. \nIf you are considering purchasing a new iPhone\, please review the number of prime lenses available with the pro and pro-max phones. The more prime lenses on your new iPhone the greater the opportunities to use all the features of the camera. Remember\, while you are purchasing a new iPhone for a better camera\, you also have WiFi\, a telephone\, and a hard drive – all in one device! \nQuestions about what phone to buy? Email me at juliestauffer@me.com\, text 203.984.7950\, or through my website: juliestaufferphotography.com \nAbout Julie Stauffer \nAfter photographing weddings\, families\, and gardens for 20 years\, Julie Stauffer was seeking another photographic challenge. Taking her new iPhone 4 to an iPhone photography workshop in 2010 launched her into another teaching career. She kept taking workshops to refine her skills and realized how large a population carried their iPhones with them 24/7 and were unaware of the capability of the iPhone camera. She designed a workshop and traveled up and down the East Coast for several years teaching where ever there was interest and a flat screen TV. Teaching had always been her love and now she offered other iPhone owners the opportunity to develop their skills using the camera on their device. We all know the camera has continued to develop with each new generation; there are professional photographers that have turned in their large DSLRs and use only the iPhone camera as their “go to” camera. Julie also teaches in Lancaster where she lives when not in Eagles Mere. She thoroughly loves seeing students realize just what they have been carrying with them but never realized its potential until they took a workshop. www.juliestaufferphotography.com
