Sullivan and Wyoming counties will remind you of “the way things used to be.” Small shops and family-run restaurants still line our historic downtown streets. Rustic farms dot the rolling hills. The Summit Loop Trail has reopened! This moderate trail is about one mile long through the forest, featuring benches and chairs to relax along the way. It`s the perfect place for a peaceful walk or a family hike!
🐦The Summit Loop is now an officially recognized eBird Hot Spot, based on the app created by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. The soundbite in this video captured some of the birdcalls that we heard on our hike.
📆 You can explore the trail daily from dawn to dusk or join one of Loyalsock Foundation`s fun events. This summer, they`re hosting birding walks, yoga sessions, community walks, and more.
📍 The trail has a new entrance off of Route 42, about 0.65 past the Sullivan County Courthouse going towards Eagles Mere. Turn at the white and purple sign and continue up the new driveway. Park at the top of the driveway and look for the white banner that marks the trail entrance.
🎉 Happy 50th Anniversary to the Eagles Mere Friends of the Arts! 🎉
For summer 2025, @official.emfa will celebrate their growth and set their sights on the future. The upcoming season features over 40 events, including professional concerts, live theatre, art classes, and other cultural programs.
