Pick up some summer reads at the Eagles Mere Bookstore. 📚 This independent bookshop sells new and used books for all ages. Wander through the shelves, and you`ll find everything from beloved bestsellers to rare antique books and collectible editions. The bookstore is open year-round at Eagles Mere Historic Village.

@bestcampgroundnearme, a new campground near Dushore, is now open for their first official season. The campground celebrated with a grand opening event on July 8, 2026.

Husband and wife Sean Farley and Rachel Buedel purchased the property in August 2025. They spent countless hours creating gravel RV pads, remodeling the cabins, and adding new amenities, such as a renovated, modern bathhouse and upgraded Wi-Fi. They started welcoming their first guests this May.

“We love the Sullivan County area, so the location was the first attraction for us,” explained Farley. “The property had a great infrastructure, with water and electricity at all RV sites, and sewage hookups for most of them. While we are a small property, we have worked to make our sites as spacious as possible for our campers to enjoy.”

The campground offers RV sites, tent sites, rustic cabin rentals, and fully equipped RV rentals just five minutes away from Worlds End State Park. Pet-friendly sites are available.

On Saturday, August 8th and Sunday, August 9th, @eaglesmerehistoricvillage will once again host its Annual Arts and Crafts Festival.

This year’s event marks the 55th year of the festival, continuing a long-standing tradition of celebrating handmade artistry, craftsmanship, and community spirit.

Guests at the festival will find a wide variety of art, including handcrafted jewelry, woodwork, felt, fiber, leather, glass pieces, photography and pottery. Attendees can browse these unique finds while enjoying good food and live music throughout the festival.
