The Dushore Area Business Association (DABA) presents the annual Dushore Fall Festival on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event features vendors, food, hayrides, and family fun throughout downtown Dushore.

“There is something so special about a small-town fall festival,” said event organizer Haley Franklin. “Everyone is out and about, people are having a great time, and of course the incredible views that nature provides!”

This year’s event boasts plenty of kids’ activities, including scarecrow decorating at the Loan Closet parking lot from 9 a.m. to noon and sidewalk art at C&N Bank from 9 a.m. to noon. The Agway greenhouse will offer pumpkin decorating and a toddler corn pit. New for 2024, the Kids’ Corner will have games like tic-tac-toe and pumpkin bowling at the center of town.

All ages will enjoy DJ Christine’s karaoke from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a new, fall-themed photo area.

For a taste of comfort food at its finest, visit the chili cook-off at Pealer Hall. Entries are due by 9 a.m., and public voting will begin at 10 a.m. Everyone gets to be a judge in this fun and delicious competition.

Pealer Hall will also host a pumpkin carving contest with categories for most creative, most horrifying, and fan favorite. Entries are due by 9 a.m.

Rocky Forest Real Estate will hold a cookie decorating party from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., sponsored by Hurley’s Supermarket.

The festival is also a great time to visit local shops and restaurants and discover all that Dushore has to offer.
