Lessons Beyond the Horizon with Jeff Mitchell
After spending 12 years as the Wyoming County District Attorney, Jeff lost his reelection bid in November 2021. At a crossroads, he sought a change. As an avid hiker, he decided to hike the Appalachian Trail, a 5-month adventure, hiking over 2000 miles and crossing through 14 eastern states. Jeff will discuss his experiences, with photos and videos, and how they shifted the way he thinks about the world and himself. He has since hiked the Colorado Trail.
Jeff Mitchell, is an Assistant DA for Sullivan County and author of several guidebooks including Hiking the Endless Mountains. His Appalachian Trail memoir, Lessons Beyond the Horizon, will be available for sale. Maybe he can also tell you about his favorite hikes in Pennsylvania.
All are welcome to Brain/Food, where discussions of fiction, poetry and films and lectures will take place on Thursday evenings at 7 PM at the DeWire Center unless noted otherwise. Brain/Food events are free, but we hope you will show your support by becoming a member or making a donation. There will be a Potluck supper preceding each evening’s program beginning at 6 PM.
