The Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau (EMVB) is recognizing the retirement of two longtime employees, Jean Ruhf and Janet Harabin, at the end of May.

Ruhf has been the executive director of EMVB for twenty years, working to market the region to tourists and serve countless local businesses and organizations. Under her leadership, EMVB established its current visitors center on Route 6 in Tunkhannock, awarded over $2 million in room tax grants to community projects, and much more.
“Jean Ruhf has been a champion of the Endless Mountains for the past twenty years,” said Erica Rogler, EMVB board president and executive director of the Dietrich Theater. “Her promotion of and service to the region cannot be overstated. Through her leadership, the Endless Mountains has grown significantly as a destination.”

Ruhf has served on many boards and committees over the years, most recently the PA Route 6 Alliance’s Tourism Committee, the board of the Endless Mountains Heritage Region, the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission’s Rural Transportation Advisory Committee, and the board of the Dietrich Theater. She always ensured that our rural communities had a voice on the state level through her involvement with the Pennsylvania Restaurant and Lodging Association.
At a retirement party last week, Representative Tina Pickett honored Ruhf with a citation for her dedication to the Endless Mountains region.

Harabin will also retire this spring after nineteen years as part-time bookkeeper. Over the years, she has worked closely with EMVB’s members, assisted countless visitors, and helped the organization run smoothly.
EMVB’s deputy director, Jill Robinson, has been promoted to the executive director position, and Kcaarin Pineau has been hired as the new membership manager.
The Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau is the designated tourism promotion agency for Sullivan and Wyoming counties. Since 1962, this non-profit organization has marketed the region through regional, state, and national publications; newspapers; broadcast media; trade shows; online publications; and more.
