Start the New Year off right with a First Day Hike up Miller Mountain in Tunkhannock! All are welcome – join a hardy group of friends, neighbors, and visitors as we kick off the New Year with some fresh air and the best views our area has to offer. Rain (snow, sleet, fog, etc.) or shine. Stop by for a short walk or hike to the top…it is up to you!
The hike will offer 2 options:
Option 1: a shorter 4-ish mile loop. Includes 2 nice viewpoints overlooking Sugar Hollow and Tunkhannock.
Option 2: a longer 6-mile loop (same as above) with additional side trail to the Miller Mountain USGS summit marker.
Meet at 9am; hike begins promptly at 9:30am
The elevation gain is approximately 1,600 ft.
The address is 109 Jurista Hill Road, Tunkhannock, PA. Take Jurista Hill Road to the “T” and take a right to find the parking area.
Pack water, snacks, and dress for the weather.
