At the Dietrich Theater in downtown Tunkhannock
Presented by: Tunkhannock Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution
Join us for a special presentation by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). When the Continental Congress commissioned copies of the Declaration of Independence to be printed and distributed throughout the colonies, news could only travel at the pace of the fastest horse, often taking weeks to arrive over treacherous postal roads. In this program, we will be introduced to the wives of the 24th Connecticut Militia Regiment of the Wyoming Valley and discover how they first heard the news of independence.
