Revolution on the Rails is a Reading Blue Mountain & Northern railway excursion from Pittston to Tunkhannock commemorating local connections to the Revolutionary War 250 years ago with programming at Riverside Park. The excursion is presented by the Lackawanna County Historical Society. For excursion tickets, visit the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern website.

The public is welcome to visit the park for programming from 11am to 2pm.  Enjoy a celebration of local history and community with local organizations, businesses, and historical societies. Event programming includes:

-Learning about Tunkhannock and Wyoming County’s heritage and what the community has to offer today through business partners, tourism organizations, and vendors.

-Experiencing authentic Revolutionary War weapons and music demonstrations and visiting an 18th century military camp with the 3rd New Jersey Regiment, the “Jersey Grays,” and 250th ceremonies.

-Discovering local connections through stories about Patriot John Jenkins, the 3rd NJ’s role in the Sullivan Campaign, and their historic encampment in Tunkhannock in 1779.
