7/7 Take-A-Hike Tuesday: 10:00–11:15 a.m. 5 Senses Scavenger Hunt: Wake up your senses on a 5 Senses
Scavenger Hunt! This immersive trek turns a simple walk into a nature discovery as families explore the sights,
sounds, smells, and textures of the Margaret Etsey Path. Meet at the Cabin, led by Debbie & Maggie.
7/14 Take-A-Hike Tuesday: 10:00–11:15 a.m. Storytime and Scavenger Hunt: Little ones and families join us
for a special travel edition of the Sullivan County Library’s Summer Reading Program! After reading We’re Going on a Nature Hunt by Steve Metzger, families will work together to complete the Find It nature scavenger hunt around our Nature Trail! Meet at the Cabin, led by Maggie.
7/21 Take-A-Hike Tuesday: 10:00 a.m. Tree Scavenger Hunt: Gather ‘round for a cozy read-aloud of The Language
of Trees, then set off on a family adventure! We’ll explore the conservancy on a guided scavenger hunt with DCNR Forester Sean Friedhof, teaching little ones (and grown-ups!) the secrets of identifying our local leafy giants. Create a Tree Identification Book to take home. Meet at the Cabin, led by Meredith.
7/28 Take-A-Hike Tuesday: 10:00 a.m. Thank You Nature Scavenger Hunt: Join our special guests, the educators from Sullivan County Victim Services, for a reading of The Thank You Letter by Jane Cabrera, a story about a girl who writes notes of appreciation to the sun, sky, and trees! After the story, kids will head out on a “Note to Nature” Scavenger Hunt to identify five natural wonders they are grateful for. Meet at the Cabin, led by Maggie.
8/4 Take-A-Hike Tuesday: 10:00 a.m. Laurel Path History Scavenger Hunt: Join us for a nature scavenger
hunt while uncovering the secrets of historical landmarks along the Laurel Path with Andrew from the Eagles Mere
Museum. Perfect for all ages! Meet at the Cabin, led by Meredith.
8/11 Take-A-Hike Tuesday: 10:00 a.m. Mossy’s Garden Scavenger Hunt: Join us for a reading of Jan Brett’s
Mossy, the story of a turtle with a garden on her shell! After the book, we’ll head onto the trails for a scavenger hunt
to collect fallen moss, petals, and bark. Families will then use their forest treasures to craft their very own “Mossy”
turtle to take home. Meet at the Cabin, led by Meredith.
