The Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce has appointed Camelia Peguero as the new Managing Director.
Peguero began her role in September 2024, immediately jumping in to host the popular Fall Festival/Lumberjack and Chainsaw Carving Competition. Looking ahead, she plans to increase exposure for local businesses and improve the chamber’s marketing efforts.

“I hope that people see the chamber as an avenue of support, guidance, and networking for businesses,” she said. “Even if I don’t know the answer, I can connect them with someone who does.”
She is also passionate about working with children. She hopes to educate the next generation of local business leaders and promote volunteerism among the local youth.
Peguero studied organizational management and graphic design and illustration. She has extensive experience in real estate, property management, and charity fundraising. She has also assisted many start-up businesses.

Peguero is a resident of Dushore. She originally moved to the area to start Iris Arts House, a nonprofit artists’ retreat formerly located in Lopez. Before that, she spent many years visiting friends in the area and grew to love Sullivan County.
“Even before working for the chamber, I’ve always been about supporting local businesses,” she said.
In her free time, she enjoys kayaking and hiking, especially at the Loyalsock Trail, Ricketts Glen State Park, and Worlds End State Park. She is passionate about the arts and hosts a monthly art show in Philadelphia.
The Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce is located at 202 South Turnpike Street in Dushore. The office is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. To learn more, visit their website at www.sullivancountypachamber.com or follow them on Facebook.
