This December, 33 homes and businesses competed in the second annual Tunkhannock Christmas Decorating Contest, sponsored by The Wright Center for Community Health. The winners were selected during a public voting period on December 1-16, 2025. Nearly 800 people cast their votes for their favorite locations.

First Place Business: Monzie’s Floral Design

In the business category, Monzie’s Floral Design won first place. Their window featured a snowy scene with a polar bear, penguins, snowflakes, and more.

Second Place Business: The Dietrich Theater

The Dietrich Theater took second place for the business category with their beautifully decorated front lawn, a window full of nutcrackers, and a stunning light tunnel.

Third Place Business: Marcho, Sheldon, & Kukuchka Funeral Home

Rounding out the business category was Marcho, Sheldon, and Kukuchka Funeral Home & Cremation Care for third place. Their building boasted a timeless look with wreaths, trees, garland, and decorations wrapped in white lights.

First Place Home: 43 Wyoming Avenue

For the home division, the first-place winner was the Hamlett family at 43 Wyoming Avenue. Their display featured an inflatable reindeer as tall as the house, the leg lamp from A Christmas Story, and a magical Christmas scene playing in the front window.

Second Place Business: 41 West Tioga St.

The second-place home belonged to the Goglin family at 41 West Tioga Street. Their historic home was decorated with classic white lights, wreaths, candy canes, and more.

Third Place Home: 73 Putnam Street

Third place for the homes was the Cahills at 73 Putnam Street. Participating in their second year, their home was decorated with light of all colors, timeless decorations, and a dazzling Christmas tree.

Endless Mountains Choice Award: Interfaith Friends

Two locations received the Endless Mountains Choice Award, chosen by the staff of the Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau. One award went to Interfaith Friends, which re-created a scene from The Grinch and filled a window with gingerbread houses. The other award went to the Leidys on 11 2nd Street for their candy-themed display with hot chocolate mugs, popcorn garlands, and candies.

Endless Mountains Choice Award: 11 2nd Street

All winners received commemorative trophies.
