They say time flies and we’d have to agree. It seems like just yesterday we were planning the first #570Day in the middle of a pandemic and hoping our social media movement celebrating our corner of Pennsylvania would catch on. Fast forward to today and we’re gearing up for the fifth #570Day! Over the past few years we’ve watched the day grow beyond social media as locals, businesses, and organizations have gotten on board and joined us in celebrating the day in their own way.

We have to admit…seeing #570Day grow has us feeling a little sentimental, so this year we are reflecting on the positive changes that the 570 area has seen over the last five years with our theme: #570Day: A Look Back, A Leap Forward.

Share Your Story

This year on #570Day we are encouraging everyone across Northeast Pennsylvania to share something about the area that they love, but that wasn’t here when the celebration began five years ago. Maybe it’s a new coffee shop or a new organization making a difference, or maybe it’s something that has been around for decades, but now has a different look. It doesn’t even have to be something tangible—it could be new friendships (we told you we’re feeling sentimental…) or an experience. Whatever it is in the 570 that makes you smile as you look back over these last five years, share it on social media on Wednesday, May 7th using #570Day.

How Will You Celebrate?

While being part of #570Day is as simple as posting to social media, watch for special #570Day events throughout the area. Businesses and organizations are invited to put their spin on the day to celebrate— create a #570Day treat, offer a special, or host an event.

How It All Started…

#570Day has grown from a social media movement that started in 2021 and is now held yearly on May 7th (5-7-year…See what we did there?). What started as a small celebration has grown into a vibrant annual tradition, uniting our community and spreading the love for everything that makes the 570 region special. From local legends to new favorites, this day is all about embracing the unique spirit and charm that define our corner of Pennsylvania.

Follow us at Facebook.com/570Day for updates as the day gets closer and on May 7th follow #570Day on social media to see all the great things in Northeast Pennsylvania!
