Welcome to the first-ever Tunkhannock Holiday Decorating Contest, hosted by the Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau! The contest is open to residences and businesses in Tunkhannock. The public will vote for five categories:
- Best Business Display
- Best Inflatable Display
- Classic Christmas
- Griswold Christmas (over-the-top displays worthy of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation)
- Most Creative
Winners from each category will receive a commemorative prize (and bragging rights).
Ready to show your Christmas spirit? Here’s how it works:
- Register using the form below. Sign-ups are open from October 1 through October 21.
- The Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau will create a map of all participating locations. The map will emphasize that all residences are private, and viewers should admire from the curb or sidewalk.
- Contact name, phone number, and email are for office use only. They will not be printed.
- All participants will receive a numbered yard sign for the voting process. We will call or email you when your sign is available for pickup at the Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau office (5405 SR 6 in Tunkhannock, in front of the former Geisinger building).
- Voting will take place December 1 through December 18. Please have your decorations ready by December 1 for everyone to enjoy.
- Winners will be announced on December 19.
- Best Inflatable Display, Classic Christmas, Griswold Christmas, and Most Creative categories are open to residences. Businesses will compete in the Best Business Display category.
The contest will complement Christmas in Our Hometown presented by the Tunkhannock Business & Professional Association. We will also partner with Stone Hedge Golf Course to encourage people to visit both the Festival of Lights and downtown Tunkhannock.
