This December, thirty-four homes and businesses competed in the inaugural Tunkhannock Christmas Decorating Contest presented by the Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau. All of the participants did an amazing job and helped bring true Christmas spirit to the community. Thank you to all of our contestants and to the nearly 600 people who voted!

Now for the moment that we’ve all been waiting for… We’d like to congratulate the winners!

Best Business Display: #28 The Dietrich Theater

In one of the most heated categories of the competition, the Wyoming County Cultural Center at the Dietrich Theater took the honors of Best Business Display. From the gingerbread family in the studio windows to the lights on the lawn, the theater did a wonderful job welcoming people into town.

Best Inflatable Display: #8 46 West St.

Mary Scarpa went above and beyond with seven inflatables: a gingerbread arch that you can stand under, a gingerbread boy, a gingerbread girl, a cup of hot cocoa, a Christmas tree, a cat, and two dogs on a sled. Next year, she hopes to add a snowman and a Santa train.

Classic Christmas: #11 50 West Harrison St.

After many years sitting vacant, the Christmas spirit returned to The Metcalf Mansion at 50 West Harrison Street. Built in 1895, this historic home embraced Victorian charm with classic white lights, red bows, and fresh greenery.

Griswold Christmas: #12 54 Wyoming Ave

The Wisnosky family created a display that could rival National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. This house had it all with lights, inflatables, music, and even an unlucky decorator hanging from the top gable (don’t worry– it’s a mannequin!).

Most Creative: #29 Pro Rehab

Pro Rehab decorated their front window with festive lights and snow, but the real standout was the homemade gingerbread village.

Stay Tuned for 2025!

We plan to make the Tunkhannock Christmas Decorating Contest an annual tradition. We would love it to grow even bigger and better next year! Follow us on Facebook and check out our blog for sign-up information starting in October 2025.
