More than 2,000 miles of cycling routes
showcase local communities, businesses,
public lands, and attractions
across four counties
ENDLESS MOUNTAINS, PA — August 18, 2026 — After more than five years of planning, mapping, fieldwork, and regional collaboration, the Endless Gravel PA Route Network officially launches this month, connecting 11 communities across Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, and Wyoming counties through more than 2,000 miles of curated cycling routes.
Led by the Endless Mountains Heritage Region (EMHR), the project is designed to introduce visitors to the region’s rural landscapes and communities while creating new opportunities for outdoor recreation and tourism throughout the four-county Endless Mountains region.

The network includes 35 routes ranging from short, accessible rides to weekend trips and multi-day adventures. Together, they showcase the backroads, public lands, river valleys, farms, historic sites, parks, small businesses, and communities that make the Endless Mountains distinctive.
Rather than creating a single trail, Endless Gravel PA connects an existing resource found throughout the region: its extensive network of quiet rural roads.
Eleven Communities Become Gateways to the Region
The network is organized around 11 community hubs: Towanda, Sayre, Canton, Worlds End, Dushore, Laceyville/Wyalusing, Tunkhannock, Nicholson, Union Dale, Montrose, and LeRaysville.
Each hub has its own collection of cycling routes, allowing visitors to choose a community as a base and explore the surrounding countryside on rides ranging from a few miles to full-day adventures.
Longer bikepacking routes connect multiple communities, encouraging cyclists to spend several days traveling through the region and using local lodging, campgrounds, restaurants, cafés, convenience stores, breweries, shops, and other businesses along the way.
The network also directs visitors to attractions beyond the bicycle. Routes pass waterfalls, swimming holes, historic sites, museums, railroad landmarks, state parks, wineries, scenic overlooks, and other destinations throughout the four counties.
Turning Backroads Into a Regional Asset
Gravel cycling has grown rapidly as riders seek quieter roads, rural scenery, and destinations that can be explored at a slower pace. The Endless Mountains are particularly well suited to this type of travel because of the region’s extensive network of lightly traveled unpaved roads and its concentration of small communities surrounded by farms, forests, mountains, and public lands.
Endless Gravel PA packages those resources into a coordinated regional experience.

All routes have been professionally mapped and are hosted on Ride with GPS, a navigation platform widely used by cyclists. Riders can choose routes based on location, distance, elevation, and type and receive turn-by-turn GPS navigation.
The accompanying EndlessGravelPA.com website adds a deeper planning and storytelling layer, pairing practical resources with inspiring professional photography and route descriptions that bring the landscapes, communities, and character of the region to life. It also includes suggested itineraries, bikepacking resupply details, camping and lodging guidance, transportation information, and everything riders need to plan anything from a morning ride to a week-long trip.
The result is intended to benefit both visitors and residents. Local riders gain a curated collection of routes close to home, while communities gain a new way to attract visitors who may stay overnight, eat locally, shop, and explore other attractions during their trip.
A Five-Year Regional Collaboration
The launch represents more than five years of work involving organizations and individuals from throughout the region.
The project was led by the Endless Mountains Heritage Region, with route design and mapping led by V2V Trails. Additional support came from the Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau, Bradford County Tourism Promotion Agency, Susquehanna County Promotion and Tourism Agency, PA Route 6 Alliance, and numerous local businesses, volunteers, community organizations, and cyclists.

Route development was financed through a series of grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Community Conservation Partnerships Program, administered through several project partners, including the Pennsylvania Environmental Council’s Cycling Activation in PA Mini Grant Program and PA Route 6 Alliance.
Marketing efforts have received additional support through DCNR funding, Visit PA’s “The Great American Getaway” program, and room-tax grants from county tourism offices.
Grand Depart Brings Riders to the Region September 12
The launch will be followed by the Endless Mountains Grand Depart on September 12, 2026, bringing cyclists together in Towanda to tackle the region’s signature multi-day bikepacking routes.
The event is designed not only as a cycling challenge but also as a celebration of the communities, landscapes, and local hospitality that define the network.
