Visit Eagles Mere Conservancy to read a story and make a craft during Trails and Tales. This program is held on Wednesdays at the Cabin from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
6/25: Opening Day. Intergenerational. Come explore the Cabin and Nature Trail and meet our new summer helper, Maggie. Explore the wonders of camouflage while we read a book about what happens when you blend in a little too much. Make a leaf mask and see how well you blend in with the forest!
7/2 Intergenerational. Come read about some animals along the Nature Trail and use air-dry clay to sculpt your mini-animal! Choose from bunnies, deer, bears, frogs, and more animals around Eagles Mere. Once dry, decorate your sculpture with paint.
7/9 Intergenerational. Pre-K to 4th but all are welcome. Come walk the Storybook Walk (The Salamander Room) and create your very own pet salamander and habitat using things found around the cabin.
7/16 Intergenerational. Come listen to a story about insects and create a BUG HOTEL using recycled materials like cardboard and old magazines to build a bug hotel! We will also talk about beneficial insects and the best place to hang your finished hotel.
7/23 Intergenerational. Dragonfly or Damselfly? Is curiosity getting the better of you? Join us by the pond as we learn about the similarities and differences of these two creatures and create one using watercolor paint.
7/30 Intergenerational. Come listen to a story about a bird and then create an Easy Peazy Bird Feeder with peanut butter and seeds.
8/6 Intergenerational. Come listen to the story, Giraffes Can’t Dance. While exploring the concept of sound, you will demonstrate how Cricket uses a string instrument, which works by making strings vibrate, and then join us in a musical jam session.
8/13 Intergenerational. After listening to a story about animal shelters, kids will build a house to provide shelter for a bear family using building materials found on-site.
