Only one stoplight exists in Sullivan County, Pennsylvania, and it sits at the heart of downtown Dushore. Located at the junction of Routes 87 and 220, it’s safe to say that you’ll never experience rush hour here. Instead, you’ll find a place where small-town America still thrives.

As the largest town in the county, Dushore is a hub for business and shopping. The streets are lined with locally owned businesses, just as they have been for generations. Family-run stores sell local gifts and everyday essentials, while the restaurants serve up scratch-made meals. “Shopping small” is more than a trend; it’s the way of life in this corner of the Endless Mountains.

Dushore is also a gateway to outdoor fun. The town provides easy access to the area’s scenic parks, trails, waterfalls, and vistas. Destinations like Ricketts Glen State Park, Worlds End State Park, and the Loyalsock State Forest are just a short drive away. With plenty of places to rest and resupply, Dushore makes the perfect basecamp for your next adventure.

Dushore’s community spirit shines the brightest during the town’s annual festivals. The year begins with the Endless Mountains Sleigh Rally, a horse-drawn sleigh competition reminiscent of Currier and Ives. In February, the Winter Wine & Chocolate Walk features craft beverages and delicious desserts throughout town. Summertime brings the children’s Fishing Derby at Kast’s Pond and the popular Founder’s Day, which is known for the famous outhouse races. The holiday season welcomes Shop Small Saturday and Christmas in Dushore, a full day of festive fun throughout town. For 2026, Dushore is also planning special activities to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.
