Have you been watching those survival shows on TV and wishing you could try some things yourself? Here’s your chance. Folks who’ve never thrown an atlatyl before or tried fire starting with flint and steel will have the opportunity to do so with visiting naturalist Kathy Kelchner. First we’ll see who can get spark using just flint and steel. Then we’ll learn the history of the atlatyl, an ancient weapon, and give it a try. A wooden handle propels a long dart through the air-how far can you get it to go?
