As part of Leadership Wyoming, our collective aim is to spearhead a project that positively impacts our community. During an enlightening Community & Human Services Day, we had the privilege of hearing from Carissa Harvey, the Executive Director of Interfaith Friends Wyoming County. We identified a critical need- the lack of resources for back-to-school shoes. Carissa’s impassioned presentation made it clear that this initiative requires urgent attention. After careful consideration, our group unanimously decided to champion this cause. Currently, Leadership Wyoming is orchestrating a Cornhole Fundraiser Tournament to generate funds for Interfaith Friends and their imperative back-to-school shoe initiative to be held Saturday, April 27th at Flying Bags Cornhole located in the Werks Plaza at 3367 US-6, Tunkhannock, PA 18657.

Interfaith Friends is dedicated to its mission to support low-income families in Wyoming County, PA, through various programs it offers. Through a meaningful partnership with the New Shoe Store Plus in Tunkhannock, they’ve sustained and expanded this program. However, the success of this endeavor relies heavily on the generosity of the community and the funds they raise through various events. Your support in this endeavor is invaluable, contributing not only to the success of our project but also making a tangible difference in the lives of those in our community.

We look forward to your participation in this meaningful cause.
