Join the Sullivan County Library on Saturday, July 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the Mattern Building for the Second Annual Chili Cook-off and Bingo.

This year the library will be adding an afternoon of bingo with cash and other donated prizes for winning cards.

For a $5.00 entry fee, chili cooks are invited to submit their favorite recipes for competition. All types of chilis will be accepted. Cooks should bring their creations in a slow cooker or crock pot, in additional to providing a list of all ingredients to be displayed with the entry. There will be two categories of judging which will begin at 11:00 a.m. The first round of judging will be done by celebrity judges with the winner receiving $50.00 and Chili Cook-off bragging rights. The second category will be open to the public. By purchasing a $5.00 sample ticket, tasters will be able to sample all chilis and cast a vote for the “People’s Choice Award.”

Bingo will begin at 12:00 p.m. The cost to play is $10.00 for 10 rounds of 6 card bingo. Cash prizes will be prorated based on the number of participants with donated prizes awarded during special games.
