Needle felting is a craft that is rapidly growing in popularity. Needle felters use a special felting needle and felting wool to create designs on felt that can framed or used to create decorative objects. Using this easy-to-learn skill, each participant will create a 10-inch felted painting in a predetermined or freehand design, depending on their individual skill level, using wool and felting needles. You will be amazed at how quickly you will feel like a veteran needle felter!

Sara Setzer is a fiber artist who concentrates on felt-work, hand dyeing, and botanical printing. Needle felting first captured Sara’s attention when a friend introduced her to it. Since then, she has taught herself through books, the internet, and creative experimentation. The bulk of Sara’s work is creating scarves, wraps, collars, and capelets, although she makes many other “wooly creations” from dryer balls to felted soaps and her very popular “Wooly Nesters.” Most items are hand dyed or eco dyed/printed using natural materials and leaves. Inspired by nature and the world around her, she tries to create wearable, functional art that has lots of texture and a one of a kind look from an art form that is rarely seen. Sara moved to the Endless Mountains in 2018. You can visit her in Studio 9-325 at The Pajama Factory in Williamsport, PA or on her website at sarasetzerfeltworks.com.
