Quilts on display

The Tunkhannock Business and Professional Association, in conjunction with Kitson Arts Alliance/North Branch Art Trail, is offering a day of quilts, music, art, and family fun!

Hometown Harvest Fest comes back on Saturday, October 5th. Heirloom quilts, original needlepoint designs, music, and food specialties are all available for your enjoyment. Visit the many participating locations and enjoy the artists and musicians, along with shopping and entertainment all with a backdrop of the Endless Mountains.

Participating Locations & Activities:

Regional Artists: Displaying throughout town 11am – 4pm. Kitson Gallery will have antique and collectible quilts along the outside of the gallery. Inside will feature artists Jean Maslany, Pamela Fitzgerald, Brian Keeler, Alice Johanson Strauss, Frank Wengen, Joe DeOrio, Erica Gibson-Bertram, Joe Kluck, Morgan Scudder, Michael Mignone, Terry Cecconi Proctor, Bob Helm, Jeremy Werkheiser, and Charlotte Dickenson. Many antiques and collectibles from pickers across the United States. Kitson Arts Alliance/North Branch Art Trail will feature artists Billy Brandenburg, Deborah Osborne, Matthew Howell, and Bob Heim along Tioga Street. There will also be antiques by Ros-Al Antiques & Collectibles.

Live Music: Performances in front of North Country Dental include Gary Carl from 11am to 12pm, Lindsey Van Gorden from 1pm to 2pm, and Alex D. Key at 2:15pm. Performances in the First National Bank Gazebo include Alex D. Key from 12:15pm to 1pm.

Bakery 420 from T&C grille Pop-up: Near Eihab Services on Tioga St.

Monzie’s Floral Design: 27 East Tioga St. Open 9am to 2pm with fall merchandise.

Greenwood’s Furniture: 61 East Tioga St. Bring your team over for a fun game of pumpkin bowling while enjoying some free apple cider. A “Take Your Own Photo” opportunity will be in front of the art quilt blocks painted on the building. They will also host the creative paper mache sculptures by Jennifer Sause Brennan, including her newest ten-foot creation!

Mr. Zim Zim’s: 8 West Tioga St. Quilts on display inside and out.

Hilltop Farms: 5577 US-6. It’s Amish Donut Day, featuring a yummy variety of donuts, as well as fall mums and pumpkins for all your fall decorating needs. The store also features additional homemade baked goods, ice cream, meats, cheeses, local syrups, jellies and jams, seasonal produce, and fall and Halloween home decor.

Unwind Cafe: 143 Wayne Ln.Featuring the popular apple cider with peach boba. Landscape artist Darlene Keen will be on hand with her work.

RiverBend Tattoo: 18 East Tioga St. Featuring the art of Eric Brocious and jewelry by designer LauraBee Studio.

Attorney Catherine Garbus Law Office: 24 East Tioga St. Quilts on display.

The Little Book Place: 74 Bridge St. The new bookstore is open! Quilts will be on display, and the owner’s son Henry holds a story time at 11am.

Tioga Bistro: 49 East Tioga St. Fall lunch feature, along with desserts and specialty drinks.

Nimble Hill Winery and Brewing Company: 3971 US-6. From 12pm to 5pm, enjoy flights, pints, glasses, and bottles of wine and beer, as well as work by local artist Amy Colley.

The Trehab Community Resource Center: 102 Warren St. Offering apple cider and a fun, fall-themed craft for the children.

Creekside Gardens: 4 Village Ln. Hosting Tunkhannock’s Farmers Market and Pumpkin Walk

United Methodist Church: 4 Church St. This year’s quilt display will feature the cherished quilts of church members, along with their families. Additionally, this year includes fine needlework and art collected by members. Special items for sale include needlework bookmarks, along with homemade soups and bread to go and the most popular cookie sale. The popular specialty baskets selection is also expanded this year with wreaths and holiday candy cane wreaths.

Dietrich Theater: 60 East Tioga St. Quilts by the Wyoming County Historical Society Collections. Discussion by Lalaine Bangilan Little, Ph.D., director of the Misericordia University Pauly Friedman Art Gallery at 11am. Join Dr. Little on a walk through some well-known and unique patterns from this collection. Tickets are available at 570-836-1022 x3 or at the Dietrich’s ticket booth while they last. The theater is also raffling quilts from the estate of Debbie Rhinard. All proceeds benefit the theater.

Wyoming County Beverage: 120 East Tioga St. Enjoy a tasting of Octoberfest/fall favorites 11am to 2pm.

Eclectic Heart: 2 East Tioga St. Add to your fall decor. Anything with a pumpkin will be 10% off during Fall Fest. Also check out works of quilters from the DJ Project, who provide quilts to sick and needy kids.
