It’s officially spooky season in the Endless Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania. As the nights grow longer and the forests go dark, our historic small towns are planning for Halloween fun. Get your fill of tricks and treats with these upcoming events.
Halloween Events for Families

By now, the kids probably can’t wait to wear their costumes and dive into the candy bowl. Luckily, the Endless Mountains will host plenty of family-friendly events leading up to Halloween:
- October 11: Pumpkin Painting at Mildred American Legion
- October 19: Nicholson Trunk or Treat & Main Street Mash
- October 23: Tunkhannock FBLA’s Trunk or Treat
- October 24: Head to Toe Trunk or Treat
- October 25: Trick or Treat the Dietrich Theater
- October 25: 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat at Unwind
- October 25: FWM Trunk or Treat

- October 30: Trick or Treat Walk at The Greens at Shadowbrook
- October 30: Forest City’s Halloween on Main Street
- October 31: Storywalk Trick or Treating at Lazybrook Park
- October 31: Kiwanis Club of Tunkhannock Halloween Parade

Halloween Events for Adults

The kids don’t get to have all the fun! Head to Grovedale Winery’s Wine & Wit Trivia for Halloween-themed games with a spooky twist (October 24). Delve into a evening of scandal and suspense at Staggering Unicorn Winery’s Viper Manor Murder Mystery Night (October 24). Sonestown Country Inn will host their Halloween Party featuring drink specials, live music, and a costume contest (October 25). And at D&D Brew Works in Muncy Valley, dress your best for the annual Halloween party with music, prizes, costumes, and more (October 31).
For a frighteningly good time, head to the Endless Mountains HalloWINEfest at the Wyoming County Fairgrounds in Meshoppen (November 1). The festival features regional wineries, vendors, food, music, and a costume contest.
Discover the mysteries of “the town that time forgot” during Paranormal Weekend at Eagles Mere Inn (October 17-19). This overnight experience includes cocktails, dinners, tours, and a paranormal investigation. One- and two-night stays are available.
Halloween Arts, Culture, & History

Catch some of your favorite movies during the Dietrich Theater’s Spooky Fest (October 17-30). They’ll host free showings of thirteen Halloween films, from classic horror movies to family favorites. Visit during the October Open Mic Night to hear haunting ghost stories by Hal Pratt (October 24).
Our local historic sites are also getting into the Halloween spirit. Old Mill Village Museum in New Milford will host the Historic Ghost Walks of PA (October 10-11 & 17-18). Take a candlelit tour of the grounds, which have been the site of several paranormal investigations. Or enjoy some wickedly delicious treats at the annual Witches’ Tea at the Old Mill Village Church (October 25).
French Azilum Historic Site near Towanda will take you back in time with Escape the Guillotine, an escape room event capturing the suspense of the French Revolution (October 18).
Outdoor Halloween Fun

You never know what might be lurking in the woods! Learn about UV light and take an evening walk along the Walnut Trail at Vosburg Neck State Park’s Black Light Hike program (October 10).
Ricketts Glen State Park will host a Beneficial Bats program with the Pennsylvania Game Commission (October 24). They’ll also have a morning Halloween Hike to view F.L. Ricketts Falls (October 31).
