New Businesses

Best Campground Near Me took over the former Rocky Valley Campground. Located just a few miles from Worlds End State Park, they will be open for the 2026 season with full-hookup camper sites, tent sites, and rustic cabins and RVs for rent.

Draught & Barrel opened in the former Seasons Restaurant in Tunkhannock, just across the street from the Dietrich Theater. This brewpub serves their own craft beers, as well as Pennsylvania wines, spirits, and cocktails. A menu of small plates and sandwiches complements the extensive drink selection.

Ewe Belong Here Yarn Company opened next to Tri-County General Insurance in Tunkhannock. This shop sells quality yarns and knitting and crocheting supplies. They also host classes.

Journey Health & Fitness moved into a new and improved space on West Main Street in Dushore in summer 2025.

Setzer’s Sandwiches & Market opened in the Eagles Mere Historic Village serving breakfast and lunch. They are located in the lower level where the general store was previously.

Twice Is Nice Thrift Shop in Dushore celebrated their one-year anniversary in fall 2025. They have a wide selection of gently used clothing, furniture, decorations, and more.

The What Not Shop, a wholesaler and gift shop, has opened a brick-and-mortar location on Main Street in Laceyville.
New in Outdoor Recreation
The Eagles Mere Grand Cru is a new gravel cycling event launching on June 12 – 14, 2026. This non-competitive adventure will feature scenic courses showcasing the waterfalls, vistas, and towns that make Sullivan County special.

Endless Gravel, a network of unpaved cycling routes, will launch a series of shorter day rides in spring 2026. These rides are great alternatives to the original multi-day bikepacking routes.
High Knob Overlook in the Loyalsock State Forest has always been a great spot for stargazing. The regular parking lot provides a perfect spot for beginner astronomers and those using basic telescopes and binoculars. However, hobby astronomers with larger, more advanced equipment can set up at the newly constructed High Knob Astronomy Area. Spaces are limited; contact the state forest for a free permit.

Patriots Cove in Noxen is building a new underwater observatory. It will be open to the public and available for studies by colleges, high schools, and other institutions.
Growing Businesses & Events

The Endless Mountains Heritage Region moved into a beautiful new office on Main Street in Wyalusing. Stop in for water trail information, outdoor recreation tips, historical information, and more.
The Loyalsock Foundation continues to make progress on The Summit: Center for Wellness in Laporte. They have drilled a well and will be installing the septic system and electrical service in 2026. They will also construct The Landing, a single-room, multi-purpose building designed for programming, fitness classes, workshops, and community meetings while work continues on the main building.
The Sullivan County Arts & Artists Tour held its inaugural event in 2025, featuring local artists and venues throughout the county. The event will return on September 19-20, 2026.

The Wyalusing Valley Museum moved into their permanent home at 25 Main Street in Wyalusing. The museum is open regularly in the summer and fall; off-season visits are available by appointment.
