The Friends of Worlds End State Park is a nonprofit, volunteer organization formed in 2018. Their mission is to conserve, support, and protect the park’s resources by promoting education, recreation, and stewardship.
The group’s fundraising efforts and generous donations from the public have enabled the Friends to purchase the materials for a new amphitheater, which park maintenance staff constructed. They have also purchased equipment for the maintenance staff, purchased archery equipment for seasonal classes, and developed two new hiking maps/guides to name a few contributions. They also publish a quarterly newsletter available on their website, Facebook, and Instagram.
The Friends have hosted two Worlds End Day celebrations, as well as a variety of smaller park programs. In 2023, they were awarded the Pennsylvania Parks & Forests Foundation’s statewide Volunteer Education Award for their efforts.
