Hillsgrove Covered Bridge

The Hillsgrove Covered Bridge was built in 1850 by Sadler Rogers, a prominent local builder. At 186 feet long, it is the longest of Sullivan County’s three remaining covered bridges. The bridge is a Burr arch truss bridge. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Hillsgrove Covered Bridge is still in use today. It is located just off of Route 87 on Covered Bridge Road. The eastern entrance (closer to Splash Dam Road) features a sign displaying the original rules of the bridge from the 1800s.
