Master Gardener volunteers support Penn State Extension’s educational programs in consumer horticulture. They develop their horticulture expertise through participation in educational training classes conducted by Penn State University faculty and Extension staff.
Master Gardeners play an important role in local communities, delivering presentations to adults and youth, writing gardening articles, staffing educational displays at county and regional events, partnering with community organizations, maintaining demonstration gardens, assisting in Extension research projects, and donating plants and seed packets.
