Grassy Ridge Farms was started in 1968 by Jack and Virginia Field. The 60 acre farm is at the current site of our farm market. In 1972 they purchased Engleman’s Orchard, located on Maple Street in Noxen Township. They ran the farm and orchard for over twenty years with the help of their seven children. Jack worked a full time job and ran the farm, while Virginia was a long-time fixture at the farm stand. Their youngest son, Mark, took over running the farm in 1991, after graduating from Penn State. Virginia has retired from running the stand every day, and Mark’s wife, Debbye, currently oversees the sales operations. With the help of our family and friends we continue the farming tradition and are currently expanding into a new farm building.
